This play is Nancy's first ever play and Timothy is the director/producer for Angels Theatre Company and presenting sponsor, Lied Center for Performing Arts. The play has its world premiere March 17-20, 2022. As Opening Night approaches, Linny asks questions of Nancy and Timothy about the script, the process of writing and directing the play, how characters in plays change, and the staggering number of drafts this play has been through. Timothy talks about the concept of compassion through imitation and how theatre offers a platform for better understanding others' lives. Nancy tries to describe what it feels like to have her play produced after six years of development, but mostly she fails! Specific to this production, Timothy shares his rationale for avoiding Nazi iconography. He also discusses his own relational ties to the German Resistance. We wrap up with Timothy presenting the other major efforts of Angels Theatre Company: Playwrights Collective, Salon Reading Series, and First Flight Festival. This is a fun and rollicking episode.
