We were thrilled to have Jennie Cole-Mossman join us on the front porch for episode 8. Nancy has known Jennie as a friend for probably a decade and Linda has consulted with Jennie  professionally. Jennie is a licensed mental health counselor who has spent her career focused on children, attachment and bonding, and court systems. Linda and she have a lot in common! We talk about trauma, why attachment and bonding is important to young children, even as young as 6 to 9 months when babies “pick their person.” As counselors, Jennie and Linda discuss secondary trauma, connecting with clients, and the satisfaction of supporting a child’s journey to wholeness. Jumpin’ and Mabel play an important role in Kya’s life and we reflect on how communities are able to, or fail to, support children and families. We also find lots of things to laugh about.
